Rebecca McKee, a CNA at the Snyder Village Health Center, is the first recipient of the Snyder Village Nursing Scholarship. The Nursing Scholarship offered by Snyder Village awards the recipient funds for tuition to an accredited nursing program, books, and any other required fees. In return, the recipient agrees to work at Snyder Village for a minimum of two years post graduation.
Becky has been a valuable member of the Snyder Village team for the last 13 years. She says, “I love caring for and getting to know the residents.” She is currently enrolled in her second year at ICC on her way to becoming an RN. Besides her passion for nursing, Becky’s interests include riding motorcycles, and she would love to own one someday! “Becky is a great asset to our team here at Snyder Village,” says Gina Melvin, CNA Supervisor at Snyder Village. “She is very passionate, dependable, and a great team player!”
Besides awarding Becky with paid tuition, books, and covering other required fees, Snyder Village is offering additional support to Becky. “Snyder Village is willing to help me get a tutor if I feel like I need extra help,” explains Becky. “Also, Snyder Village talked to one of our nurses and this nurse agreed to be a mentor to me. If I have any questions, I can now ask my mentor.”
Becky recommends others apply for the Nursing Scholarship offered by Snyder Village. “It is a huge weight off my shoulders to have my tuition, books, and required fees paid in full,” says Becky.
